Gutsy Walk – Crohn’s & Colitis

  • Location:Rustico
  • Venue:Seawalk Park - Boardwalk
  • Length:01:00 pm

Well this couldn’t hit closer to home for me.  I had a raging bout of Colitis a few years ago that put me in the hospital for 9 weeks.  At the end of my stay, I went home with no large intestine and an ileostomy.  HUGE life change, but the operative word there is LIFE.  The alternate was a view of the inside of a casket.  I’m very lucky and I’m also very honored to be starting the Gutsy Walk with a song that I wrote from my time being sick.  It’s called “My Soul to Keep” and I’m so happy to be singing it – to be ABLE to sing it for all the folks who are hit by these afflictions and for the family members who watch their loved ones in misery from the diseases.  It’s tough, folks.  But someday, as a direct result of your fundraising, it won’t be so bad.
