Lady Soul

So I mentioned in the previous post that I am now part of a spectacular new band called Lady Soul.  And I’m so excited and I just can’t fight it.  (Ok, that’s disco, sorry).

Lady Soul is:

Me on lead vocals

Laura Morgan & Belinda Doyle as the Soulettes – the most fabulous backup singers ever

Robyn Verhoeven on trumpet and Melissa MacRae on sax

Brian Langille on lead guitar

Jason Rogerson on funky bass

David Gordon on keyboard

and Mr. Kirk White on the drums

These are some of the best musicians on PEI, and I can’t wait to get these people in front of an audience!

The set list is killer too, of course.  We’ve got tunes from Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, Patti LaBelle (yes, it IS Lady Marmalade!!), Martha & the Vandellas and more!

So the music is incredible, but I can’t wait to see what we’re wearing… oh dear… there are just sooo many possibilities…  I wonder what’s at Winners these days… I should go.

Sorry, I digress.  Anyway, our 2 sets at Baba’s during the 150 hour jam are our first gigs – we’re pretty pumped, and hope this is just the beginning.

We’re there:
Friday, April 4 at 11pm

Sunday, April 6 at 1pm
